Hello colorers! Our next artist is from the beautiful and exotic Brasil. Her work is packed with bright colors, simply astonishing:
Q:We’re glad to meet you, can you tell us a little something about yourself?
A : Hi, I’m Gabb Prizo, 24 years old, living and doing a major in Geography from Rio de Janeiro – Brazil.
Q: How did you start to color? When did this attraction begin?
A: I started coloring as a hobby two years ago, during the “Coloring Boom” in Brazil, when the books from Johanna Basford became a true fever here.
Desenhando o fundo! ??❤??
Q:Do you use coloring as a small getaway from the real world?
A : I don’t consider it as a getaway, but rather a moment when I can relax and meditate about my day.
Q:Is coloring time consuming? How often do you color on a weekly basis?
A : Yes, it is a time-consuming task. Usually, I spend almost twenty hours a week . In the most detailed ones, I spend more than eight hours. In my days off, I like to coloring watching my favorite TV Shows. And in the weekends I’m always coloring.
Q:How do you prepare before coloring? Any special preps?
A: Some drawings, when I saw for the first time, I knew instantly what do. Sometimes, for inspiration, I research on the Internet for real images, to see the lighting schemes and so on. But usually, I just put all my colored pencils on the desk and let my imagination flowing. I love to hear music, and watch my favorite shows at the same time when coloring! And some days I watch only tutorials, to improve and learn new techniques.
Q:What are your favorite supplies for coloring? Do you always use the same or you like to experiment with it?
A: I really like to try new kinds of coloring supplies. But I mostly use the watercolor pencils in my arts. They’re amazing. About brands, currently I use (and love them all) Faber-Castell,Staedtler[/easyazon_link], and [easyazon_link identifier=”B01HF15TLQ” locale=”US” tag=”color-planer-20″]Bruynzeel[/easyazon_link].
Q:Do you have special techniques and color mixes that you’d like to share with us?
Any tips and tricks?
A :I have a few tips and tricks, which I will share thru my Instagram and my new Youtube Channel. So folks, stay tuned.
Q: Do you have a specific “signature” in your art?
A: I consider myself an adventurous in coloring. Always searching for new techniques and realistic coloring. My coloring arts are my signature itself.
Q: Which books and patterns you find most enjoyable to color?
A : I love the floral patterns and the Doodles by [easyazon_link identifier=”1631061755″ locale=”US” tag=”color-planer-20″]Kerby Rosanes[/easyazon_link].
Q:Do you have a favorite author? How did he/she earn your admirations?
My first books are from Johanna Basford (I bought twice each book). And Kerby Rosanes, I’m totally crazy for Doodles. I love them a lot.
Q: And last but not least, where can we find your artwork?
A : You can find my work on Instagram, and soon on Youtube and Facebook.
Thanks for the Q&A session, it’s always a pleasure to talk about my hobby.
